Call for Abstracts: 9th TEPHINET Global Scientific Conference Chiang Mai, Thailand August 7-11, 2017
Training Programs in Epidemiology and Public Health Interventions Network (TEPHINET) and the Bureau of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand, the host organization of the Thai FETP, will co-organize the 9th TEPHINET Global Scientific Conference in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The conference is planned for August 7-11, 2017, with pre-conference workshops to be held on August 6.
Current trainees/fellows and graduates from basic, advanced, intermediate and frontline level field-based training programs in applied epidemiology, laboratory, and public health practice are invited to submit abstracts (in English only) for consideration (see details below). Priority will be given to current FETP trainees/fellows.
Abstracts should cover investigations or projects undertaken and completed during training and within the past two years (i.e. no earlier than January 2015). We are interested in abstracts describing outbreak investigations, implementation and evaluation of public health programs or surveillance activities, and other areas in applied epidemiology or public health practice. In particular, abstracts and presentations should emphasize how the results of the investigation or an analysis were used to direct public health actions (for example, the current activities of the FETPs in Zika and Ebola response), and also describe or estimate the public health impact.
Abstracts submitted for consideration should be original. In particular, the abstract should not represent work already published in peer-reviewed journals or previously presented at an international conference, including FETP International Night 2017. If an abstract is accepted for FETP International Night 2017 after it has been submitted again, it will not be considered for
presentation at the 9th TEPHINET Global Conference.
