Center for Health System Research (CHSR), Hanoi Medical University is established through a grant from the Rockefeller Foundation and the China Medical Board (Download CHSR’s leaflet).

The vision of the CHSR is a leading institution in Vietnam and in the region in terms of training and research on health system and health economics.

The mission of the CHSR is promote the development of health care system in Vietnam which are responsive, affordable and accessible to all.

The objectives of the CHSR are:

1. To strengthen capacity of key stakeholders of the health care system in Vietnam in terms of health system research methodology;
2. To generate reliable research evidence on different aspects of health system
3. To facilitate use of research evidence by health policy makers, managers and health staffs at all level in Vietnam
4. To serve as a knowledge center for health system research methodology as well as a hub for activities of different health system stakeholders in Vietnam.

Activities of the CHSR include:

1. Training activities: Provide different training courses on methods for health system research and health economic evaluation in health care with international and national experts  (Link to Training activities)
2. Research activities: Implement researches addressing topics relating to health system and health economics, focusing on critical problems of health care system such as the expansion of health insurance coverage, impacts of health insurance reforms, equity and efficiency in health care services, etc) (Link to Research activities)
3. Information dissemination: Organize and take part in workshops/seminar to disseminate research findings on health system and health economics (Link to Conference). Publish scientific reports, papers and other policy advocacy materials such as booklet, factsheet, policy briefs… (Link to Publications)
